What we process

Coin photos. When you scan a coin, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our identification service and analysed by an AI model from OpenAI. Before the first scan the app asks for your agreement. Location and other metadata are removed first. We keep the photo for up to 90 days to check and improve the recognition, then it is deleted automatically.

Device identifier. The app creates a random identifier and stores it in the device keychain (it can survive reinstalling the app). It connects your scans, problem reports and daily usage data, applies the daily scan limit and lets us count active devices. It is not your name, e-mail, Apple Account or advertising identifier.

Scan results. For each scan we keep the AI answer (which coin, confidence, condition, notes), processing time and any error, with the device identifier, for up to 90 days.

Usage data. Once a day the app sends app version, region, language and whether a subscription is active. When the subscription screen is shown, the app records that it was shown and whether a purchase was started, completed or cancelled (with the plan and region). We use this to count users and improve the app; it is deleted 90 days after you last used the app.

Problem reports. If you report a wrong result, we receive your optional comment, the AI answer, the scan identifier and, if you choose, the photo. Reports are kept for up to 90 days.

Support e-mails. If you contact support, we receive your e-mail address and message. The app pre-fills technical details (device identifier, recent scan identifiers, app and iOS version) that you can edit before sending. We keep support e-mails as long as needed to answer them.

Your collection. Saved coins, your scan history and their photos are also stored on your device.

Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment details. During a free trial, each scan is sent with the trial's identifier from the App Store (its original transaction identifier), so that our server can count the scans of the trial once over all your devices; the app also sends it when it checks how many trial scans are left. We keep this count for 90 days. From Apple our server receives a notice of each subscription event (trial started, renewal, change of plan, cancellation, refund) with the transaction identifiers, the plan, the price and currency and the App Store country; it contains no name, e-mail address or Apple Account, and we keep it for 90 days (a record of a refund or revocation until shortly after the refunded subscription period would have ended).

Who can see it

The developer can look at photos, scan results and reports to check quality and answer support requests; access is password-protected. Photos are processed by OpenAI on our behalf. Our server is run by a hosting provider; the AI step runs on a computer operated by the developer, which fetches each photo from our server over an encrypted connection and does not keep it.

What we do not do

No account, no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no sale of data.

Your choices

Settings → Clear scan history deletes the scan history on your phone (coins in your collection stay). Removing the app deletes the data on your phone except the keychain identifier. Data on our server is deleted automatically after the periods above; to have it deleted earlier, write to us and include the device identifier from a support e-mail.
