Colorkin Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
Colorkin turns a photo into a black-and-white colouring page. This page explains what leaves your phone when you use it, and what happens to it. “We” means the developer of Colorkin.
What we process
Photos you turn into pages. When you make a page from your own photo, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our server, together with the style you chose. The server makes the colouring page with classic image processing (smoothing, splitting the picture into areas, drawing lines); no generative AI is used. The server deletes the photo as soon as the page is made. The photo is never kept longer, never used for anything else and never used to train anything. The sample photos in the app come with their pages already made, so they are not uploaded.
Finished pages. The finished page (a black-and-white line drawing) stays on our server for at most 7 days so that the app can download it; then it is deleted. The app keeps your pages on your phone.
Device identifier. The app creates a random identifier and stores it in the device keychain (it can survive reinstalling the app). It is used to apply the fair-use limit (50 pages a day) and to keep each device’s pages private, so that a page can only be fetched by the device that made it. It is not your name, e-mail address, Apple Account or advertising identifier.
Usage data. Once a day the app sends the app version, region, language and whether Colorkin Pro is active. When you use the subscription screen, the app sends which step happened: the screen was opened, a purchase was tapped, succeeded or was cancelled. We use this only to count, for example how many devices use the app each day and how many people subscribe.
Usage data is deleted from the server after 7 days.
Service log and limits. For each page the server notes the device identifier, the language, the style, the page’s size and number of areas, how long making the page took and whether it worked (nothing else about what is in your photo); to stop abuse it also counts pages per day per device and per network address (IP address). Your IP address is used only for this limit. This log and these counters are deleted after 7 days.
Subscription check. Subscriptions are processed by Apple; we never receive your payment details. When you make a page from your own photo, the app sends your subscription’s transaction record as signed by the App Store, so that our server can confirm that Colorkin Pro is active and count the 5 pages of the free trial. The trial is counted per Apple Account using the original transaction identifier in that record. The record contains Apple’s identifiers, the plan and its dates (and the price, currency and App Store country as Apple includes them); it does not contain your name or e-mail address.
The trial count and the identifiers it uses are deleted from the server after 7 days (a free trial lasts 3 days). If Apple tells our server that a purchase was refunded, that notice is kept as long as the refunded subscription could otherwise still be used.
Camera and photo library. The app uses the camera only when you take a photo in the app. It asks for access to your photo library only to add a page when you tap Save, and that access is add-only: the app does not read your library.
PDFs and sharing. PDFs (A4 or US Letter) are made on your phone. Pages you share or print only go where you send them.
Support e-mails. If you write to support, we receive your e-mail address and your message and keep them as long as needed to answer.
Where it is processed
Our server is run by a hosting provider in London, United Kingdom.
What we do not do
No account, no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no third-party SDKs or analytics SDKs, no sale of data.
Your choices
Removing the app deletes the pages stored on your phone; the keychain may keep the device identifier after the app is removed. Pages you saved to Photos stay there until you delete them. On our server, photos are deleted as soon as the page is made and pages within 7 days. For any question about your data, or to have data deleted earlier, write to us.
